About Site
Let’s just say the book didn’t sell all that well, but the site to promote the book did very well. (how ironic) It won all sorts of awards (Macromedia Site of the Day, Communication Arts site of the Week etc. etc.) You can see an archive of the old site here. It was pretty cool as it used some very cutting edge code from Robert Penner to enable the back button, via wacked out frames and such. (at the time very cutting edge!) Needless to say it was a royal pain to update all those .SWF files, and creating a custom Flash CMS was out of the question. So I built a very humble site in Movable Type. I soon grew tired of “rebuilding my pages” and made the leap to Word Press and have never looked back.
The site has evolved (or devolved depending on your point of view) from just writing about Flash to general interactive development topics. As I move forward with Flash 99% Good I hope to return to my roots and write more about Adobe Flash and Flash related topics.
