Top Flash (.FLA) Resources – Best places to get source files

flashloadedThere are many resources online for sharing and buying quality code to help fast track your Flash development projects. Many of these resources offer either free or a small fee to access the source .FLA files or components. I’ve tried to rank each of these resources with strengths and weakness so you can easily wade through the junk.

Flash Kit
The 411:
One of the oldest “sharing sites”, loads of files, good place to find old code if your client requests the project run in Flash 5, Navigation is horrible, and unless you have AdBlock add-on for Firefox running the ads over power the content

FlashLoaded
The 411: High quality resource for well documented Flash components. In particular my programmers love the “ultimate scroller” lovely piece of code that is work every penny!

Adobe Exchange
The 411: This site started by one guy became so popular Adobe bought it from him. A great high quality resource to find free and commercial   Flash components. The site also contains some of my interfaces styles for Photoshop (in-case you want to take a look)

Actionscript.org
The 411: Offers a nice yet small selection of older .FLA files

HotScripts (FLA Page)
The 411: If you need a .FLA that hooks up to a PHP script this is the site for you. Dynamic XML menus generated via PHP, guest books, etc etc.

MovieClip Tweening Library by Ladislav Zigo
The 411: Ok this isn’t really a resource of a bunch of different .FLA’s …   it’s even better. This well documented tweening library is so easy to use even a “design type” like me can use it.

Tutorial Outpost (Flash Section)
The 411: A great way to scarf some free .FLA resources and learn how to create them in the process.

Ultrashock
The 411: Has alot of high quality .FLA’s (free) and many for sale.

Flash 99% Good Tutorials
The 411: Some of these files are older than you grandmother now, but some of the tutorials and source files still have use today.
